Another loss for H1

BSG- SV70 105-91

H1 finished off 2017 with a hard fought game against league leading Grevenboich. The elephants are one of the top teams in the league and Saturday night we saw why. They are loaded with talent and have 5 guys that can score 15-20 points each night.

From the start I thought our games showed we was ready for the fight. In the first quarter we started out attacking. Against such a talented team it is very hard to stop them completely for 4 quarters so you have to be able to score some points. I thought we found a really good balance between inside/outside in the first 2 quarters. Alessandro did a good job of attacking their big guys and finishing strong at the rim. Pick and roll with Jeremy and Alessandro was good early on.  They focused a lot on Jeremy and Alessandro found himself open a lot under the basket.

We tried a new line up that worked good for us. We started Marco over Oscar hoping Oscar would give us the scoring spark off the bench and he did. Oscar came in attacking and gave our 2nd unit the scoring to keep us in the game.

In the end Grevenboich was too strong. The 3rd quarter continue to be our worst quarter. We lost our flow on offense and started to take 3s which led to long rebounds and fast break points for Grevenboich.

The break came at such a perfect time for us. 2017 was not a best year but we will come back stronger in 2018. We showed we can play with every team in the league. We have a team goal we set and it starts against a really good Herford team in January. Wish everyone Happy holidays and look forward to getting back to work in 2018.

Scoring:

Lewis 22, Luchterhandt 20, Spitale 10, Bampoulis 8, Toptan 8, Braun 7, Wasielewski 6, Fouhy 4, Stockey 2, Kiknadze 2, Voca 2, Braun
