Great win in Mettmann for u18

Mettmann: U18 51: 80

It took two quarters before the guys finally started playing Haspe basketball. Great shooting from my main man JFK hitting 5-6 from 3 in the first half keep u18 in the game at the half. In the 2nd half we finally played defense holding Mettmann to 9 points in the 3rd quarter and 8 points in the 4th quarter. The guys showed when we focus first on defense we are a better team.

Offensively the guys started to move the ball better and play team basketball was the key against Mettmann who played zone most of the game. Mettmann switched to man to man defense in the 3rd quarter but after 6 straight points from “Steph Curry Micanovic” they quickly switched back to zone seeing they had no chance against the guys.

The best point guard in the league Jan S. did a great job controlling the tempo of the game in the 2nd half. Being up by more than 20 points in the 3rd and 4th quarter allowed all guys to get playing time and the starters to get rest for another big game on Tuesday. Co captain Max Priebe suffered an ankle sprain in the 2nd quarter and was out the rest of the game. He is likely to miss Tuesday game. Overall great job from all the guys but still a lot of work ahead.

Micanovic 21, Koop 16, Szemeitat 16, Priebe 4, Buballik 4, Waltenberg 2, Thurn 2, Siewert 15, Strahl 0
