Another close game for H1 on Saturday against a really good Recklinghausen team. We did some things good, but in the end it was not enough to get a win. Like every week we find a way to beat ourselves late in games and that is something we will continue to work on. Again on Saturday we had a chance to win the game, but we had costly turnovers and miscues on offense. To win games in this league we have to play nearly a perfect game every night and we have to learn that.
We have to do a better job at taking care of the ball. We cannot turn the ball over 22 times and expect to win games. We gave up 17 offensive rebounds. These are the things that hurt us the most. Against good team we cannot afford to give them extra possessions and expect to win. I thought in the 3rd quarter we lost focused on defense and we gave up 3 wide open 3 pointers. Not giving up open shots was one of the key to the game and we have to do a better job at that going forward.
Still lots of work to do. Still a long season left, so no time to hang our heads. Have to keep working hard and hope that we can put a full game together.
